Mun Yee-Jun Hoong take diving bronze in Mexico

KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — National women's diving pair, Leong Mun Yee and Cheong Jun Hoong claimed the bronze medal at the FINA Diving World Series 2015 held in Merida, Mexico yesterday.

The competition is the sixth round and final leg of the series.

Official website www.fina.org said the Malaysian pair won the medal after collecting 312.90 points in the women's 10m synchronised platform event on the first day of the tournament.

Si Yajie-Lian Jie of China took the gold medal with 333.72 points while Canada's Meaghan Benfeito-Roseline Filion claimed the silver with 328.41 points.

In the earlier series this year, the Malaysian duo claimed two silver medals in Beijing, China (March 13-15) and London, England (May 1-3) and a broze in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (March 19-21).

They did not win in Kazan, Russia (Apr 24-26) and Windsor, Canada (May 22-24).

After competing in six series, Malaysia stands in third position in the women's 10m syncronised platform event on 120 points while China and Canada accumulated 162 and 132 points, respectively. — Bernama
