Diving pair Mun Yee, Jun Hoong win silver in London

KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 — National women’s diving pair Leong Mun Yee and Cheong Jun Hoong today grabbed the silver medal at the fourth series of the FINA Diving World Series 2015 in London.

According to FINA’s official website www.fina.org, the Malaysian pair won the medal after amassing 314.94 points in the women’s synchronised 10m platform event on the first day of the meet at the London Aquatics Centre in Stratford.

The Chinese pair of Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia won the gold medal with 332.88 points while homesters Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow settled for the bronze with 311.88 points.

Mun Yee and Jun Hoong bettered their performance from the last series in Kazan, Russia, last week, when they finished fifth with only 281.28 points.

In the earlier series this year, Mun Yee and Jun Hoong won silver in Beijing (March 13-15) and a broze in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (March 19-21).

Later at 7pm local time (2am Malaysian time), Nur Dhabitah and Ng Yan Yee will compete in the women’s synchronised 3m springboard event. — Bernama
