KUALA TERENGGANU, April 9 — Terengganu will have more firepower upfront with the signing of striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha.

Norshahrul was unveiled by the Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) at a contract signing ceremony at TH Hotel here today.

The much-travelled Besut-born player signed a one-year contract.

Team manager Marzuki Sulong said the PBSNT wanted to sign Norshahrul last year but it failed to materialise.

“Alhamdulillah, it becomes a reality today and mark the return of another Terengganu player to their home state,” he told reporters after the contract signing ceremony. “Norshahrul’s return will add more sting to the Terengganu attack.”

Marzuki hopes to field Norshahrul when Terengganu play host to Felda United on April 18.

Norshahrul’s debut for Terengganu will only be his second in the state’s colours. His first appearance for Terengganu was for the U-12 team.

On his return to Terengganu, Norshahrul said it was for personal reasons and has nothing to do with the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) football team.

“The ATM coach released me in good faith. We did not have any problem,” he said.

Norshahrul had played for Perak (2003-05), Negeri Sembilan (2006-07), UPB-MyTeam FC (2007-09), Kelantan (2010-12), JDT (2013-14) and ATM (2015). — Bernama
