KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 ― The 2015 Formula One season in brief, ahead of this week's Malaysian Grand Prix:

― Lewis Hamilton dominates season-opening Australian Grand Prix to lead the drivers' standings ahead of Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg

― Sebastian Vettel finishes third in his first drive for Ferrari, more than 30 seconds behind the two Mercedes

― Mechanical problems, injury leave only 15 cars on the grid, the least for a season-opener since 1963

― Jenson Button finishes 11th and last for McLaren in the absence of Fernando Alonso, who is sidelined after crashing in testing and suffering concussion

― Max Verstappen of the Netherlands becomes the youngest F1 driver at the age of 17 years and 166 days, and lasts 34 laps before suffering a mechanical failure ― AFP
