KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 — After winning the British Junior Squash Championship and Asian Junior Team Squash Championship, National junior squash ace Ng Eain Yow has set his sights on success at the global level.
Eain Yow who turned 17 on January 26, has set his sights on winning the World Junior title in Kaherah, Egypt in July.
“Based on my current performance, I feel I can be among the top four,” he said when met at the Kenny Rogers Roasters, here today.
According to Eain Yow, or simply known as Yow to his friends, as preparations for the World Junior, his coach Andrew Cross was exposing him to various international tournaments to gain exposure and experience.
“Apart from taking part in international competitions, we also spar with senior players,” he said.
On January 6, Eain Yow created his own history by winning the British Junior Squash Championship in the Under-17 category and followed up the superb feat by helping Malaysia to beat Pakistan 2-0 to win the Asian Junior Team Squash Championship that ended on February 1. — Bernama
