KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 18 — The T-Team football club will be placed under the management of the State Sports Council (SSC) from next year, to ensure it is more structured and orderly.
State Youth and Sports and Human Resources Committee chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat said currently, the team was under the State Secretary.
“The move is also aimed at providing a better future for the players,” he told reporters at an Aidilfitri celebration by SSC here today.
Also present was Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) secretary-general Arpin Draman.
Rozi said all budget and finance for the management of the team would be provided by the State Government.
In the meantime, Rozi said he was satisfied with the performance of T-Team under new coach Anuar Abu Bakar although he had only taken over the helm last week.
He hoped the level of performance would be maintained and T-Team would continue to excel in the Malaysia Cup competition.
Rozi also warned import players to raise their performance.
“We will not hesitate to suspend them if there are no changes in their game against Sime Darby here on August 20,” he said.
In another development, he expressed disappointment over the performance of the Terengganu team, which lost to Sarawak because the team was expected to bring back the Malaysia Cup. — Bernama
