KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — Terengganu now top the Super League after collecting three full points when they defeated Sarawak 3-1 at the Sarawak Stadium in Kuching last night.
They now have 20 points, one more that closest challenger Pahang after 10 matches.
Zairo Anuar Zailani put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute only to see the advantage neutralised by Mohamad Rashid Aya eight minutes later.
However, in the second half, it was The Turtles all the way with Moustapha Daco scoring their second in the 64th minute before Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad sealed Sarawak’s fate with their third in the 68the minute.
In the other Super League match played last night, Selangor PKNS were held to a 1-1 draw by Johor Darul Ta’zim at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Selangor PKNS were the first to score when Patrick Ronaldinho found the net in the 37th minute but Mahali Jasuli ensured a point for the visitors when he equalised in the 55th minute.
Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Police whipped SPA Putrajaya 7-1 at the Petaling Jaya Stadium.
The Cops’ goals were contributed by Ali Ashfaq (21st, 88th); Bobby Gonzales (31st ), Charles Souza Chad (66th, 85th), Mohd Fazilidin Khalid (86th) and an own goal by SPA’s Hafiszuan Salehuddin in the 90th minute.
SPA’s consolation goal was netted by A. Puvana Rajah in the 71st minute.
Felda United also collected three points after defeating DRB Hicom 3-1 at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka.
DRB Hicom opened scoring through Ashadi Mohd Yusoff in the 37th minute but Felda United pulled level two minutes later when Zah Rahan Krangar found the equaliser.
Indra Putra Mahayuddin then made it two up for Felda United in the 60th minute before Zah Rahan again found their third goal in the last minute of injury time.
At the Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar, Negeri Sembilan edged Perlis 1-0 with the solitary goal supplied by Kim Jin Ryong in the 45th minute.
Elsewhere, Kedah defeated UiTM 3-1 at the UiTM Stadium, Shah Alam; Sabah also won by the same margin against Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang ( PBAPP) at the Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu and Penang mauled Johor Darul Ta’zim II 4-1 at the City Stadium, Penang. — Bernama
