KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — Malaysia's young and budding Moto3 rider Hafiza Rofa had the opportunity to participate in the Moto3 World Championship final official testing in Jerez Circuit in Spain.

The SIC-Ajo team brought in the Malaysian as a stand-in for compatriot Hafiq Azmi who had to skip the test due to an injury to his right hand.

The team said in a statement today that at the three-day official testing, Hafiza not only made his official World Championship test debut but also rode for the first time on a European track.

“I am very pleased to have been involved in this official test. It's been a great opportunity for me because in two weeks' time we return to this circuit for some Spanish Championship testing and I've gained a lot of experience,” said the 17-year-old Hafiza, as quoted in the statement.

He said the experience had helped him to learn a lot and begin his own pre-season for the 2014 CEV Spanish Championship for Ajo Motorsport.

“I've learnt a lot from all the teams, both the mechanical and technical side, which has helped a lot to improve my riding. Furthermore, I was also able to learn from the other riders on track, which is very positive,” said Hafiza.

At the Jerez Circuit, Hafiza completed a total of 83 laps and set a best time of 1:53.100s.

Meanwhile, the Moto3 World Championship begins next week at Qatar's Losail Circuit, and features the debut of SIC-Ajo and its new full-time Malaysian rider, Hafiq Azmi. — Bernama
