KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 ― Terengganu shot to the top of the Super League table after beating Pahang 2-0 at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium tonight.
Terengganu’s (the Turtles) win against Pahang (the Elephants) gave them ten points from five matches played.
Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) recorded a 4-1 win over former leaders Selangor at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Johor Baharu.
JDT (Southern Tigers) led 2-0 at half time with goals from skipper Baihakki Khaizan (12th min) and Hariss Harun (33rd min).
The break did not dampen JDT’s appetite who scored two more goals courtesy of Luciano Figueroa (52nd min) and Mohamad Fadhli Mohd Shas (59th min).
Selangor pulled back one goal when Paulo Rangel scored from the spot in the 68th minute after he was brought down in the penalty area by Baihakki.
Kelantan beat T -Team 3-0 at Sultan Muhammad Ke- IV Stadium, Kota Baru with goals from Mohamed Shawky (32nd min), Mohd Radzi Badhri (45th min) and Mohamed Ghaddar (84th min).
Sarawak beat Perak 1-0 at State Stadium, Kuching with the only goal scored by Milorad Janjus in the 7th minute.
Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) lost 1-2 to Lions XII from Singapore at their home ground Selayang Municipal Council Stadium.
However, it were ATM who began brightly when Amiridzwan Taj Tajudin scored with a header in the 4th minute.
Lions XII came roaring with goals from Khairul Amri (47th min) and Muhammad Afiq Yunos (91st min).
The Malaysian League will rest to make way for the national team’s preparation for the 2015 Asian Cup qualifier against Yemen in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on March 5. ― Bernama
