JOHOR BAHARU, Nov 9 — Johor Darul Ta'zim or Pahang?
That is the answer Mohd Amirul Hadi Zainal has to give to FA of Johor (PBNJ) president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim following news that the midfielder had renewed his contract with Pahang.
Tunku Ismail told a news conference at Istana Bukit Pelangi here today that Mohd Amirul had voiced his intention to join Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) next season.
“He and his family had contacted PBNJ stating that he wanted play for JDT. Other players who wanted to join JDT have confirmed their status except Mohd Amirul,” he said.
In any case, Tunku Ismail wished the best for the son of Zainal Nordin, a former Selangor player in the 1990s, should the latter decide to stay with The Elephants.
News reports recently quoted FA of Pahang president Tengku Muda Pahang Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah as saying that Mohd Amirul had already renewed his contract with the team.
JDT's new signings for the next season Norazlan Razali, Mohd Asraruddin Putra Omar, Mahali Jasuli and Mohd Amri Yahyah (all from Selangor); Mohd Daudsu Jamaluddin, S. Subramaniam, Mohd Syakir Syaari and Mohd Nor Farhan Muhammad (from Kelantan); Lions XII player Hariss Harun, Negeri Sembilan player Mohd Nazrin Mohd Nawi and Harimau Muda A players Mohammad Fadhli Mohammad Shas and Mohd Irfan Fazail.
At the press conference, Tunku Ismail also announced a name change for JDT, from Johor Darul Takzim to Johor Darul Ta'zim while Johor FA, will henceforth be called Johor Darul Ta'zim II.
