LONDON, Oct 31 — Norwich City and Cardiff City were today charged by the Football Association over an injury-time melee during their 0-0 Premier League draw last weekend.
Players from both sides clashed after Norwich midfielder Leroy Fer rolled the ball into the Cardiff net when the visitors were expecting him to return it to them following an injury stoppage.
The goal was ruled out by referee Michael Jones.
“Both Norwich City and Cardiff City have been charged by The FA for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion,” read a statement on the FA website.
“It follows an incident which occurred in or around the 94th minute of their fixture on Saturday 26 October 2013.”
The two clubs have until 1800GMT on Monday to respond to the charge. — AFP
