SINGAPORE, Oct 19 – BTS fans have more than the concerts to look forward to in the coming months.
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the group’s management agency Hybe announced today (Oct 19) that the BTS The City Arirang initiative to celebrate their music will run from Dec 1 to 31, reportedly the longest period in history.
This will also be the only Southeast Asian stop, having been held previously in Seoul, Busan, London, Las Vegas and New York.
The project will see a rave and drone show with BTS music at Sentosa, opening and closing night takeovers at Zouk and a themed light show at the Rain Vortex in Jewel Changi Airport.
Other happenings include a firework display and themed experiences at Universal Studios Singapore, an art trail at National Gallery Singapore, themed light and sound installations at the National Museum of Singapore, interactive experiences at The Kallang, as well as a landmark-themed takeover of Exploria at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
Additionally, from Dec 8 to 22, multiple landmarks in Singapore will light up in red corresponding to their latest album Arirang.
The landmarks include Anderson Bridge, Cavenagh Bridge, Clemenceau Bridge, Coleman Bridge, Elgin Bridge, Gardens by the Bay, Millenia Tower, Ord Bridge, OUE Bayfront, Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, The Helix Bridge and The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.
Oliver Chong, assistant chief executive, international group, at STB, said this marks the tourism board’s “largest city-wide destination project” it has collaborated on for a recording artiste.
The septet – which consists of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook – will be performing at National Stadium on Dec 17, 19, 20 and 22, seven years after their last concert held at the same venue. – AsiaOne
