SINGAPORE, July 13 — Singapore Exchange on Monday reported a 35 per cent year-on-year increase in total turnover to S$455.7 billion (RM1.44 trillion) for the fiscal year 2026, with securities’ daily average value surging 35 per cent to S$1.8 billion, the highest in 18 years.

The exchange said in a statement that its derivatives volume climbed 15 per cent to 363.5 million contracts, with daily average volume rising 14 per cent to around 1.5 million contracts for July 2025 to June 2026, reported Xinhua.

The exchange also recorded double-digit growth across its derivatives business in June, as global investors leaned on trusted risk-management tools.

Derivatives traded volume rose 31 per cent year-on-year in June to 34.3 million contracts, while daily average volume increased 27 per cent to 1.6 million contracts.

Meanwhile, securities market turnover jumped 72 per cent year-on-year in June to S$44.6 billion, while securities’ daily average value for the month also spiked 72 per cent to S$2.1 billion. — Bernama-Xinhua
