Singapore Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong ends Malaysia visit with dinner hosted by Terengganu MB

KUALA NERUS, May 8 — Singapore Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong ended his Terengganu visit yesterday at a dinner hosted to mark the trip.

Lee and his wife, Ho Ching, were accompanied by Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and his wife, Toh Puan Seri Tuan Faezah at the dinner at Elysium Hall of the Terengganu Drawbridge.

Shortly after arriving at 8.15pm, they were greeted by a flotilla of 40 fishing boats decked in colourful lights at Sungai Terengganu estuary.

After dinner, the delegates watched the iconic bascule bridge swing open, showcasing its mechanism as large vessels passed through the estuary.

Among last night’s Singapore delegates were Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Social Development and Family, Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim and Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong.

Joining the delegation were Singapore MP Joan Pereira, High Commissioner to Malaysia Vanu Gopala Menon, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Terengganu state secretary Datuk Mohd Azmi Mohamad Daham, state executive councillors, and department heads were also in attendance to welcome the Singapore delegation.

Lee began his five-day visit to Pahang and Terengganu on Monday. — Bernama
