SINGAPORE, April 1 — After months of uncertainty over unpaid wages, about 80 former workers of Singapore bakery chain Twelve Cupcakes are reportedly set to recover part of their salaries.

Singapore’s The Straits Times reported that the employees, who were left in the lurch when the company abruptly shut all 20 outlets on October 29, 2025, will receive around half of what they are owed for October 2025 under the court-appointed liquidation process.

The court-appointed liquidator AAG Corporate Advisory told The Straits Times it is prioritising workers’ claims in line with insolvency rules and has begun contacting them to confirm bank details so salaries and overtime pay can be disbursed.

In a separate statement published on its website, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said it has issued a stern warning to Twelve Cupcakes for failing to pay salaries to 80 employees following the closure and liquidation.

MOM found that parent company Dhunseri Ventures Limited placed the firm into liquidation after determining it could not meet its obligations on a sustainable basis due to an acute cash-flow shortfall, and assessed the case as a genuine business closure arising from severe financial distress rather than a deliberate attempt to evade wage obligations.

The ministry said a liquidator has been appointed to manage the distribution of remaining assets, with employees’ salary claims ranked ahead of other unsecured debts, and added that affected staff have been linked up with union and employment support bodies for job matching and assistance.
