SINGAPORE, Nov 8 — About three million adult Singaporeans aged 21 and above will receive cash payments ranging from S$100 (RM320) to S$600 starting December 5, 2026, as part of the enhanced Assurance Package announced in Budget 2023.
The payout amount will depend on each individual’s assessable income and the number of properties they own.
In a statement released on November 7, the Ministry of Finance said the Assurance Package aims to help Singaporean households manage living expenses, with additional support targeted at lower- to middle-income families.
Budget 2023 saw the package topped up by S$3 billion, bringing the total to S$9.6 billion.
Further enhancements have increased the package to over S$10 billion, including cash payouts, MediSave top-ups, CDC vouchers, and additional U-Save and service and conservancy charges rebates.
Eligible recipients who link their NRIC to PayNow by November 23 will receive their payments first, by December 5.
Those who have not linked their NRIC but have a DBS, POSB, OCBC, or UOB bank account can provide their details at the GovBenefits website by November 29 to receive payment via Giro by December 16.
Individuals without a linked PayNow account or valid bank account will receive their payout through GovCash by December 22, and can withdraw the amount at any OCBC ATM after passing verification checks, including a facial scan.
The Ministry of Finance will notify eligible recipients via SMS from the gov.sg sender before and after the payment is credited. Those without a Singpass-registered mobile number will receive a letter at their NRIC-registered home address.
The ministry also reminded the public that government officials will never ask for money transfers or bank login details over the phone.
