Singapore stocks plunge more than 7pc on US tariff fears

SINGAPORE, April 7 — Shares in Singapore plunged more than seven percent at the open today amid fears over a global trade war after China retaliated against Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs.

The Straits Times Index sank 7.37 percent, or 281.84 points, to 3,544.02 as markets across Asia went into freefall. — AFP
