KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Singer-actress Bella Astillah was moved to tears when her nine-year-old son, Mohamed Ayden Adrean, delivered an emotional speech at her wedding reception with Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman last night.
Speaking at the reception held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec), Ayden recalled the difficult moments his mother went through before Syed Saddiq came into their lives.
“Daddy, before you came into our lives, there were times when I saw mummy cry.
“I was still small and sometimes, I didn’t understand everything that was happening.
“I just knew that mummy was sad,” he said.
Ayden said he had always wanted to see his mother happy again, adding that he began noticing a change after Syed Saddiq entered their lives.
“Slowly, I started seeing mummy smile more, heard her laugh more and I saw her become happy again,” he shared.
He also thanked Syed Saddiq for accepting him and his six-year-old sister, Ara Adreanna, as part of his family.
“You have never made us feel like we were only mummy’s children.
“You made us feel like we were also your family.
“Thank you for choosing mummy.
“Thank you for loving her,” he said.
Ayden then turned his attention to Bella, 32, expressing his appreciation for the sacrifices she had made in raising him and his sister.
“You have always taken care of us, even when it meant making so many sacrifices.
“May Allah bless your marriage, protect our family and keep our hearts close to each other always.
“Mummy and Daddy, I love you very much,” he said.
Bella and Syed Saddiq tied the knot on October 10 at Menara Merdeka Maybank in Kuala Lumpur, after getting engaged on March 28.
The couple is set to hold two public wedding receptions under the theme “Kenduri Rakyat”, or community feast, in Muar, Johor, on October 25 and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on October 31.
