KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — Global comedy star Trevor Noah will make his long‑awaited Malaysian debut on Nov 9, with a one‑night stand‑up show at the Ideas LIVE Arena, organisers LOL Asia and BOHM announced in a press release.

The South African comedian, writer, producer and former Daily Show host is set to bring his trademark blend of sharp wit and global perspective to Kuala Lumpur, marking a milestone for the country’s fast‑growing live entertainment scene. The show begins at 8pm.

Noah, described in the release as a performer who “makes the world smaller by making us laugh at how differently — and how similarly — we experience it,” has built an international career spanning stand‑up, television, books and digital media.

He rose to global prominence after taking over The Daily Show in 2015, transforming it into a more internationally attuned platform during his seven‑year tenure. Since leaving the show in 2022, Noah has expanded his creative output, hosting the weekly What Now? With Trevor Noah podcast, running Day Zero Productions and the Trevor Noah Foundation, and releasing his 2026 Netflix special Trevor Noah: Joy in the Trenches. He also hosted the Grammy Awards for the sixth consecutive year in 2026.

LOL Asia CEO Rizal Kamal said bringing Noah to Malaysia was the result of a 14‑year effort. “Trevor belongs to a rare category of performer who can cross cultures, find the joke and still retain the humanity… We’ve waited a long time for this,” he said.

Noah’s bestselling memoir Born a Crime and his second book Into the Uncut Grass have cemented his reputation as a storyteller who bridges personal history with global themes. His Off The Record world tour sold out venues across five continents, including the Hollywood Bowl, New York’s Beacon Theatre and London’s O2 Arena.
