KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 — Award-winning multilingual powerhouse Shila Amzah is set to ignite Genting Highlands’ Arena of Stars next month in celebration of her 25th anniversary in the music industry.

Scheduled for August 15, the Kita - Shila Amzah 25 Tahun Bersama Live in Concert will showcase the 36-year-old trailblazer belting out her most iconic hits alongside an all-Malaysian lineup of guest artists. Joining her on stage are singer-songwriter MimiFly, Hael Husaini, and rappers Balan Kash and Kidd Santhe, with DJ Fuzz rounding out the ensemble.

“I’ve been directly involved in the pre-production of this concert, which makes it incredibly meaningful.

“I’m not just challenging myself as a singer; I handled the entire setlist myself and even learned how to record – After 25 years, I feel one of the greatest lessons is that we are constantly learning new skills as singers,” Shila told local media during a press conference in Siera Alam.

Shila expressed her gratitude to organiser Pink Asia for granting her full creative freedom to curate the setlist and steer the concert's artistic direction.

The event also marks a poignant reunion for Shila and MimiFly. The two previously shared a stage for a local television show during a period of personal hardship for both.

“I remember both of us were going through a very hard time at the moment, I just lost my grandmother and Shila was also going and through something on her own but we managed to bring out the best out of each other during the show.

“And until now, the show has become like this shared memory of me and Shila – it was an epic show, the energy was amazing and we felt so good afterwards,” MimiFly recalled, adding that they aim to recreate that same magic on August 15.

The Nara singer praised Shila’s decision to feature an exclusively Malaysian lineup, viewing it as a gesture of solidarity and support for local talent.

“We know Shila is an international superstar and she could’ve invited whoever she wants as her guest artists but instead, she decided to go back to her roots and invited Malaysian artists instead to celebrate with her.

“That actually brings tears to my eyes – like really, we artists need (to support) each other and when she did that, we felt supported, liberated and inspired,” MimiFly said.

Rapper Balan Kash highlighted the concert's multicultural spirit, noting that the setlist spans Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Tamil, and English.

“I remember seeing her when she was 10 or 12 years old performing Marilah Berdansa and to see her today, where she can sell out Genting and give opportunities to other artists like us, that means the world to us.

“Because artists like Shila don't come by so often in our country – tell me, how many local artists can go to China and sell out their shows there?

“I think she’s the only one and I’m very honoured and blessed to get the chance to be on the same stage as her and alongside an orchestra team as well,” Balan said.
