SEOUL, May 27 — South Korean actress Han So‑hee is set to appear in the music video for Xlov’s latest title track Serve, released today as part of the group’s second mini‑album I, God.
The four‑member act — Wumuti, Rui, Hyun and Haru — is returning roughly six months after dropping its debut mini‑album UXLXVE. The new project, available on major streaming platforms from 6pm, highlights the group’s continued push into experimental sound and performance.
In a livestream video, the group revealed just how the collab with Han So-hee came about.
Haru’s mother had noticed that Han had used one of the group’s songs in an Instagram post, leading to member Wumuti reaching out to the actress thanking her for using the song.
It ended up becoming a whole conversation in DMs, with Wumuti and Han meeting in person, both squealing in excitement.
Han said she was willing to clear her schedule just to be in the music video, even if it was only a shot of her from the back.
The actress however instead became the full-fledged star of the video, drawing curious onlookers from the music video teaser alone.
Serve features an unconventional arrangement built on a groovy beat and choreography rooted in voguing, reinforcing Xlov’s identity as a group that foregrounds a genderless concept. The music video draws inspiration from the chess rule “pawn promotion,” depicting a character’s evolution from imperfection to completion.
The album carries seven tracks, including jazz‑infused opener The Rules, two unit songs — Extancy by Wumuti and Rui, and Hips by Hyun and Haru — as well as Back 2 Back, Masterpiece and an instrumental version of the title track.
Xlov, promoted as the first male K‑pop idol group to adopt a genderless concept as its core identity, continues blending genres such as jazz, house, hyperpop, hip‑hop and EDM to broaden its musical range.
