KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Anime fans are in for a treat as Japanese pop rock star LiSA brings her electrifying performance to Malaysia this June 7.
The concert is part of her LiVE is Smile Always~15~ Asia Tour, where the artist will take centre stage at Mega Star Arena, marking a milestone moment as her first-ever solo concert here in the country.
Dubbed the “Queen of Anime Music,” LiSA’s long-awaited debut in Malaysia has fans across the country buzzing, with many who have followed her rise through anime and pop music calling it a performance worth the wait.
LiSA has indeed cultivated a passionate fanbase across the nation, with hits like Gurenge, Homura, Crossing Field, and ADAMAS becoming iconic within the anime community.
The concert is organised by SOZO, promising not only spectacle but also a meaningful connection between artist and audience — something LiSA herself is eagerly anticipating.
“Hi, Malaysia! This is my very first solo concert in Malaysia! I’m so excited to see you all!”, she greeted her Malaysian fans on X.
LiSA’s journey began as the vocalist of indie band Chucky before she moved to Tokyo in 2008 to pursue a solo career.
She officially launched her solo career in 2011 with the mini-album Letters to U, and has since remained a staple name at events such as Anime Festival Asia.
Her music has consistently topped charts in Japan, with multiple singles reaching the Oricon weekly top ten.
Crossing Field has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, while Oath Sign earned gold certification.
Beyond chart performance, LiSA’s accolades include the Newtype Anime Award (2019), the Japan Gold Disc Award (2020), and the JASRAC Award (2021).
Adding to her already impressive achievements, she became the first Japanese solo artist to have a feature documentary on Netflix, titled LiSA: Another Great Day, which was released in 2022
Her 15th anniversary tour across Asia will also make stops in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Seoul.
