KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 — British girl group the Spice Girls will be reuniting soon.
Member Mel B revealed her future projects would include ‘something’ involving all five members after Victoria Beckham asked to get the band back together.
"We are doing something together as the Spice Girls and it has always been me kind of championing everybody together,” the 48-year-old singer told The Daily Telegraph.
"This time it was actually Victoria who was saying, ‘Come on, let’s all do something.’
"So we have got something in the works, which will be announced soon. It’s about f****** time.”
Mel B is currently in Australia filming The Masked Singer as a judge alongside Chrissie Swan, Abbie Chatfield and Dave Hughes.
All the members last performed together during the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics after reuniting for a global tour in 2007.
In 2019, the group reunited again for a stadium tour in the United Kingdom but Beckham didn’t join as she was focusing on her own fashion business, Asia One reported.
The group were one of the most popular bands of all time, reaching their peak in the late 90s with hits like Wannabe, Who Do You Think You Are and Say You’ll Be There.
Geri Halliwell left the band in 1998 and the other members pursued solo careers in 2000.
"Nobody else will ever understand that relationship between us,” member Emma Bunton told Mail Online last year.
"We’ve been through so much and we still go through so much, from children to work. There’s a bond there and it’s very, very strong.”
The group consists of Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Melanie C (Sporty Spice).
