KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 — The director of TVB drama Legal Maverick has been sentenced to 10 months' jail by the Kowloon City magistrates' court for forcing a nightclub hostess to be his sex slave.

Law Chun-wai, 43, pleaded guilty to a count of threatening to publish intimate images of the woman without consent, The Standard reported.

According to the charge, Law had met the woman last January and they had sex twice at his Bay View Garden home in Wong Tai Sin, Hong Kong.

He then sent pictures of the woman in the nude via WhatsApp on March 26 and threatened her to be his sex slave or he would release the pictures.

Law further asked the victim to take more pictures of her private parts and forced her to bring other women to serve him, leading the woman to report the matter to the police.

During a police investigation, Law had claimed he was drunk when committing the extortion and had no intention of publishing the photos.

When sentencing, Acting Principal Magistrate Peony Wong Nga-yan likened Law’s actions as "foul and shameless”.

She ruled that Law was conscious when blackmailing the woman as he listed multiple requirements and threatening her, which was contrary to his defence that he was drunk.

During the 2017 TVB Anniversary Award, Vincent Wong won Best Actor while Sisley Choi won the Most Popular Female Character for their roles in Legal Maverick.
