KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — Fans of Baymax, Hiro and the rest of the Big Hero 6 team will be glad to know that they will be back in an animated series Big Hero 6 The Series on the Disney Channel (Astro Channel 615).

The series picks up where the Award-winning feature film Big Hero 6 left off in the fictional city of San Fransokyo and it will follow the adventures of Hiro, Baymax and the Big Hero 6 team.

Big Hero 6 The Series explores the friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate robot Baymax. Joining them on their high-tech adventures is the sensible control freak and physicist Wasabi, the optimistic and artistic genius Honey Lemon, the no-nonsense mechanical engineer and creative, science enthusiast Fred — who together form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6.

As the new prodigy at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, Hiro must juggle his newfound responsibilities as a superhero while facing the daunting academic challenges and social trials of being the new kid on campus. Off campus, they must protect their city from a variety of scientifically enhanced villains.

Each 22-minute animated episode features 2D animation that draws inspiration from various Japanese art styles and it illuminates the unbreakable family bond among the Big Hero 6 team.

Reprising their roles from the feature film are Ryan Potter as Hiro, Scott Adsit as Baymax, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as Fred’s dad. Also joining the main voice cast are Khary Payton as Wasabi and Brooks Wheelan as Fred.
