"For this new record, I experimented in narrative and fiction,” says the artist in an announcement from her label, Dead Oceans; in particular, the artist had in mind "a very controlled icy repressed woman who is starting to unravel.”

The lead single, Geyser, is accompanied by a video directed by Zia Anger.

The full track listing for Be the Cowboy follows:

2. Why Didn’t You Stop Me

While the LP will be Mitski’s fifth, it follows on directly from what is arguably her breakout LP, Puberty 2, which released in 2016. Following that album’s release, Lorde invited the rocker to open on her recent North American tour alongside Run the Jewels.

Mitski is soon set to head out on a tour of her own, beginning with series of dates around the US in June before visiting the UK and Europe in September, with shows scheduled in London, Paris, Berlin, Manchester and elsewhere. Find details at mitski.com. — AFP-Relaxnews
