LOS ANGELES, May 16 — American actress, Jennifer Love Hewitt, is set to star in the second season of 9-1-1, a TV show created by Ryan Murphy which started screening in January on US TV network, Fox.

After taking a break from the small screen, Jennifer Love Hewitt is making a comeback on the cast of season two of Ryan Murphy's show, 9-1-1. The American actress joins Angela Bassett and Peter Krause as Maddie, the sister of firefighter Evan "Buck” Buckley, played by Oliver Stark. This new character will replace 911-operator Abby Clark, played by Connie Britton, who will not return to the show next season.

9-1-1 follows the lives of police officers, ambulance crew and firefighters as they work hard to save lives every day. The show explores how these first responders juggle a stressful job with their own personal problems. The drama series has proved a hit for Fox, which has renewed the show for a second season.

The show also sees Hewitt return to Fox after her breakthrough role in Party of Five — the cult show that launched her career — from 1994 to 2000. She went on to star in Ghost Whisperer and The Client List. More recently, the 39-year-old actress played series regular Kate Callahan in the CBS show Criminal Minds. — AFP-Relaxnews
