LOS ANGELES, April 27 — The American actress will star in Heft, directed by American filmmaker Max Nichols, Deadline reports. Based on the book of the same name by Liz Moore, the movie is produced by The Gotham Group, which acquired the rights in fall 2017.

The plot centres around a former academic called Arthur Opp, who hasn’t left his Brooklyn home in 10 years. Across the city, 17-year-old Kel Keller is busy surviving life as a poor teenager in a school full of rich kids. The pair are connected by Kel’s mother, Charlene (Zellweger), when she calls on her former professor for help, changing the lives of Kel and Arthur forever.

Actors Louie Anderson (Baskets) and Owen Teague (Bloodline) play Arthur Opp and Kel Keller respectively. There’s no word yet on when production may begin.

The movie’s young actor, Teague, previously starred in the 2017 horror movie It, as well as in the Netflix series Bloodline. He is also on the cast of Mary, a forthcoming supernatural thriller starring Gary Oldman and Emily Mortimer.

Zellweger is currently filming the Judy Garland biopic Judy, in which she plays the title role. — AFP-Relaxnews
