LOS ANGELES, April 9 — Although much-rumoured and hinted at in 2014, Pixar Studios hasn’t released any updates on Toy Story 4 — until now.

On Friday, Pixar Studios finally announced on Facebook that the much-awaited next instalment, Toy Story 4, will be released on June 21, 2019.

The release of Toy Story 4 will come nine years after Toy Story 3 appeared to wrap everything up, with Andy heading off to college and Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang with a new family.

Little else has been revealed about what lies in wait for the gang.

The original Toy Story was released back in 1995 and followed the rivalry between Tom Hanks' cowboy Woody and Tim Allen's spaceman Buzz Lightyear as they fought for their owner's affection.

This was followed by two sequels in 1999 and 2010 respectively.
