LOS ANGELES, Feb 10 — Actor Reg E. Cathey passed away today, reported TMZ.

Cathey, 59, died at his home in New York after fighting a battle with lung cancer. Friends and family were at his bedside.

Besides being active in the theatre scene, Cathey played notable roles in The Wire, Oz, Lights Out and winning an Emmy for a guest appearance in House of Cards.
