LOS ANGELES, Feb 9 — Sony has unveiled the first trailer for Venom, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock.

The character’s alter-ego is best known as a rival to Peter Parker and a nemesis to Spider-Man. (Topher Grace played him in Spider-Man 3.)

In an action-packed teaser released yesterday, fans see more of Brock the antihero (who growls about how people have "our own demons”) than the enigmatic, complex and badass lethal protector that they have come to love.

But where are the fangs and the jet-black suit? We say bring it on!

Venom is set to hit cinemas on October 5.
