Selena Gomez, Antonio Banderas and more stars join ‘Doctor Dolittle’ reboot

LOS ANGELES, Feb 7 — The new Doctor Dolittle reboot is gaining traction with a whole list of stars signed on for it.

According to reports, Michael Sheen, Ralph Fiennes, Emma Thompson, Selena Gomez, Tom Holland and Antonio Banderas have all been tapped for the movie that is titled The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle.

The cast will be led by Robert Downey Jr as the title character, a doctor who has the ability to speak to animals. The story is based on author Hugh Lofting’s 1920s children’s book series and Eddie Murphy previously played the lead role in earlier films released 20 years ago. 

Banderas is set to play a live-action role as Rassouli while Sheen could be playing Mudfly. Gomes will reportedly voice one of the animals while the roles of the other stars are not known at this point.

The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle is scheduled for release on April 12, 2019.
