LOS ANGELES, Feb 6 — Warner Bros has released the first trailer for Melissa McCarthy’s upcoming comedy Life of the Party.

McCarthy plays a housewife named Deanna who after getting dumped by her husband decides to return to college to get the degree she never quite finished. She decides to enrol in the same university as her daughter Maddie (Molly Gordon) and live the college life she never got a chance to enjoy in her younger years.

The film also stars Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Stephen Root, Jacki Weaver, Jessie Ennis, Adria Arjona, Debby Ryan and Jimmy O. Yang.

The synopsis of the film reads: "When her husband suddenly dumps her, long-time dedicated housewife Deanna (McCarthy) turns regret into re-set by going back to college — landing in the same class and school as her daughter (Gordon), who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna — now Dee Rock — embraces freedom, fun, and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.”

Life of the Party is set for release on May 11.
