KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 -- Singer and actress Betty Rahmad wed entrepreneur Ardy Damis last night in a lavish nikah ceremony at Mercu Mustapha Kamal.

Betty, who is the younger sister of screen veterans Erma Fatima and Umie Aida, has been dating 31-year-old Ardy for four years.

Ardy is a graffiti artist turned hairdresser at Joe’s Barbershop (established by rapper Joe Flizzow) who later founded Nimroc Barbershop.

Food lovers would most likely recognise 36-year-old Betty through her food venture Betty’s Kitchen which sells the spicy Sambal Gila and Red Velvet cookies.

The pair were introduced by Betty’s best friend Nora Danish and her husband Nedim Nazri.

The bride, who got engaged to Ardy last October, was stunning in a Mimpikita embroidered lace creation.

She then changed into a beige evening gown that featured a sheer bodice covered with green and purple floral beadwork.

Betty also sported an elaborate white henna design on her hands instead of the traditional red, continuing the white wedding theme.

The groom opted for an ivory baju Melayu and modern grey suit, both designed by Ashraff Zainal.

During the reception, the bride serenaded her husband and guests with a soulful rendition of Rihanna’s Love On The Brain.

The wedding was attended by celebrities Kavita Sidhu, Neelofa, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Linda Onn, Scha Alyahya, Nora, Amy Search and many more.

The nikah ceremony was preceded by a henna night (malam berinai) and a bathing ritual (upacara bersiram) a few days before.
