LOS ANGELES, Nov 27 — Netflix Inc has reportedly extended production of hit political drama House of Cards for two more weeks as they try to figure out a future direction for the series without its leading man Kevin Spacey.

The studio had earlier this month suspended production on the series, which is currently in production on its sixth and final season, after allegations of sexual misconduct by Spacey came to light.

The show’s production company Media Rights Capital in a statement said: "We continue to work with Netflix with the hope of resuming production soon. As we continue these discussions, we have determined together that the crew will be paid for an additional two week hiatus — beginning on November 27th and continuing through December 8.”

Spacey has played Frank Underwood in the groundbreaking show Netflix series opposite Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood since its first season in 2013.
