Premiering on 31 January in its home country of Cambodia, Jailbreak has been one of the most successful local productions this year, debuting with sold out shows and even receiving positive reception from the audience.

Directed by Jimmy Henderson, the film, incorporating the art of Cambodia’s ancient martial art Bokator, follows a special task force as they try to survive and fight their way out of a prison riot.

Jailbreak has since premiered at numerous international film festivals across the globe such as in Hong Kong, Italy, England, and more.

It is also currently showing in theatres in Malaysia, where it opened to positive reception earlier this month.

For the 28th SGIFF, Jailbreak will be screened at the festival on 25 November 2017. — Cinema Online
