KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — If you’ve been wanting to check out some foreign films, you’ll be glad to know that Kelab Seni Filem Malaysia will be hosting a screening of short films from Finland.

The event, in collaboration with the Finnish Embassy, will be held at Help University in Jalan Dungun, KL this Friday (November 10) from 7pm till 10pm.     

"The Finnish film industry is experiencing a new golden era. Films from our Nordic neighbours have been winning awards for decades: Finland is slowly but surely catching up,” shared LA-based eminent Finnish film writer Kirpi Uimonen.

Among the films lined up for the night are Academy Award nominated comedy Do I Have to Take Care of Everything that revolves around the chaos of a family trying to make it in time to a wedding and Listen, a fim that shows us how helpless we are without a common language and how horrible acts can be a result of good intentions.  

Admission is free (doors open at 7pm) and there will also be light refreshments served before the screening which starts at 8pm. Finland’s ambassador to Malaysia Petri Puhakka will also be present to launch the programme.

The "Short Films from Finland” programme is part of the EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) series of film screenings held monthly in collaboration with Kelab Seni Filem.
