KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — Five Chinese movies have been selected as part of the Best of Asia segment of the upcoming 21st Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

The Best of Asia segment, which showcases top domestic films from eleven Asian territories from the past year, will feature movies from Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia this year.

The movies selected will be screened throughout the festival, which will begin on 13 July and end on the 23rd of the same month.

Hong Kong and mainland China will feature three movies together — The Mermaid (Stephen Chow), The Monkey King 2 (Cheang Pou Soi), and Cold War 2 (Sunny Luk and Longman Leung).

On the other hand, two movies will represent Taiwan — Adam Tsuei’s The Tenant Downstairs, and Neal Wu’s At Cafe 6.

Other movies that will be screened at the event include Ola Bola and BoboiBoy: The Movie (Malaysia), My Stupid Boss (Indonesia), our Name (Japan), and Barcelona: A Love Untold (Philippines). — CinemaOnline
