LOS ANGELES, July 2 — Hayley Williams has split from husband Chad Gilbert.

The Paramore lead vocalist and the New Found Glory guitarist shared the news with fans via an emotional joint statement on Instagram yesterday.

It read in part: "Marriage is not for the faint of heart. Love is an absolute risk. And it’s up to each of us to stay hopeful even when the outcome isn’t what we’d originally hoped for.”

The former couple added that they remain close friends who are "good in each other’s eyes.”

Williams, 28, and Gilbert, 36, tied the knot in February 2016, after dating for eight years.
