LOS ANGELES, June 11 — Tom Cruise rewraps The Mummy for an action and stunt packed reboot.
Cruise stars alongside Sofia Boutella, Russell Crowe and Annabelle Wallis in the rework of the original 1932 film and 1999 box office hit, which originally featured Brendan Fraser and was followed by two sequels.
The cast said the challenge was to honour and respect the film's that came before and the fans of those movies, but also bring something new to the table. For the first time the Mummy is played by a female.
The film's June 1st London premiere was cancelled after a suicide bombing in Manchester killed 22 people and caused Britain to raise its terrorism alert to critical. — Reuters
