KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — Malaysia’s Bront Palarae will have to brush up on his Tagalog for his next movie, Daddy’s Home.

The movie is a psychological thriller helmed by Bradley Liew and it will be Bront’s first ever Tagalog role.

In an interview with star2, Bront said that he will play the role of a father who returns home after some time away at sea.

"He somehow becomes a different man and his family doesn’t recognise him. Unexplained things start to happen,” he shared

He will be flying to Manilla, Philippines to film the movie on June 15 and he hopes he will be able to make it back to Malaysia in time for the Hari Raya celebrations.

Liew made his directorial debut with 2016’s Singing in Graveyards, which premiered at the Venice International Film Critics Week and later earned the Best Picture Award at the inaugural Malaysian Golden Global Awards in March.

Bront first met Liew in Tokyo, Japan for the screening of his film, Terbaik Dari Langit back in 2014.

The two have discussed the possibility of working together for years before it became a reality with Daddy’s Home.

Bront very recently finished filming Joko Anwar’s remake of the classic Indonesia horror movie, Pengabdi Setan where he plays a father who has to keep his family together when bad things start happening in the house they live in.

Pengabdi Setan is his third Indonesian movie and will be released later this year.

Meanwhile, there has been no word on a release date for Daddy’s Home. — CinemaOnline
