LOS ANGELES, April 11 — Marvel Entertainment has released a first look at its upcoming Thor: Ragnarok movie, the latest instalment in the fantastical franchise.

The clip for the blockbuster, helmed by New Zealand director Taika Waititi, runs for just under two minutes and begins where the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron left off — with Chris Hemsworth's Thor held captive and his homeland of Asgard in chaos, following a hostile takeover by the evil Hela (Cate Blanchett).

Trapped without his hammer on an alien planet — ruled over by Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster, one of the Elders of the Universe — the last few seconds of the trailer show Thor forced to put his gladiatorial skills to work against a surprise opponent, the Incredible Hulk (via Rolling Stone).

Here, a humourous twist ensues, as Thor exclaims "Yes! We know each other! He's a friend from work!”, much to the audience's surprise — only to have the Hulk charge at him full throttle anyway. — AFP-Relaxnews
