LOS ANGELES, April 3 — Think all dolls are cute and cuddly? Well, the new trailer for horror flick Annabelle: Creation will give you something to think about.

The trailer, released yesterday, is a prequel to Annabelle (2014), which itself was a prequel to the hit horror movie The Conjuring (2013).

In this release, we find out the truth behind the demonic doll.

Annabelle the doll was created by a dollmaker and his wife a few years after their own daughter died in a car accident. But instead of being a doll to soothe fears and brings smiles, Annabelle does just the exact opposite.

David F. Sandberg directs Annabelle: Creation. The cast includes Talitha Bateman, Stephanie Sigman Philippa Anne Coulthard, Lulu Wilson, Lou Lou Safran, Grace Fulton, Tayler Buck, Samara Lee and Anthony LaPaglia.

It haunts cinemas on August 11.
