LOS ANGELES, March 21 — Colin Farrell will play Oliver North in an Amazon series about the Iran-Contra affair.

Variety reported that the as-yet-titled series will reunite him with his Lobster director Yorgos Lanthimos.

Farrell last TV project was season two of HBO’s True Detective.

North is best known for his time on the National Security Council during the Iran-Contra affair.

He claimed partial responsibility for the sale of weapons to Iran, the profits of which helped to fund rebels fighting Nicaragua’s then-socialist government.
