LOS ANGELES, March 17 — Matthew Perry has confessed that he once "beat up” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when they both attended the same primary school in Ottawa.

The former Friends star made the revelation when he appeared on US talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday.

Perry said he had forgotten about the altercation until a friend jogged his memory, before stressing that it was something he was "not proud of”.

"I think he was excelling in a sport that we weren’t. So, it was pure jealousy,” he added.

"I’m not bragging about this, it was terrible, I was a stupid kid… I feel shame.”

However, Perry who was a few years ahead of Trudeau in school still jokingly took credit for the latter’s decision to enter politics.

"I think it was rather instrumental in him becoming, you know, going to such great heights and becoming the prime minister. I think he said, ‘‘I’m going to rise above this.’”

Well, everyone knows the geeks will inherit the world.
