Coldplay wants fans to request songs for their Singapore concerts
Malay Mail

SINGAPORE, March 9 — Calling all Coldplay fans: If you’re going to their concerts in Singapore on March 31 and April 1, the band wants you to pick what songs they’ll play.

In a note published on their website this week, the British band said it would be taking song requests for any of its upcoming shows in Asia.

To make a song request, Singapore fans must record and upload a short video (15 seconds or less) of themselves on Instagram, explaining why they chose that particular song. Fans must also tag the band (@Coldplay) in their post, include the hashtag #SingaporeRequest, indicate the day of the concert, and add the song title as a hashtag (for example, #Shiver).

"Please don’t have any music playing too — just you talking,” the band advised fans.

All 100,000 tickets to Coldplay’s two shows at the National Stadium are sold out. The British band was originally supposed to play just one night in Singapore, but added a second show after overwhelming demand. Tickets for both shows were snapped up within two hours of their release.

Coldplay was last in Singapore in 2009 and had played at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Their upcoming concerts are expected to be the band’s biggest here. — TODAY
