LOS ANGELES, March 1 — Five Came Back, narrated by Meryl Streep, will air on Netflix on March 31, 2017.

Adapted from Mark Harris’s 2014 bestseller Five Came Back: A Story of Hollywood and the Second World War, and directed by Laurent Bouzereau, the three-part Netflix docu-series explores the impact of, and relationship between, Hollywood and the Second World War.

The series follows the careers of five filmmakers who served in the war and then returned to show their experiences to the public — John Ford, William Wyler, John Huston, Frank Capra, and George Stevens.

Directors such as Steven Spielberg (also an EP on the series) and Francis Ford Coppola are among the interviewees, with narration by Meryl Streep. — AFP-Relaxnews
