Rachelle Lefevre signs on as lead in ABC's new thriller 'Doomsday'

NEW YORK, Feb 28 — Canadian actress Rachelle Lefevre, known for her roles in Under the Dome and Twilight, will star alongside Jack Davenport in ABC’s upcoming Doomsday series, according to Deadline.

Based on a script by Mark Bianculli and VJ Boyd, produced by Carol Mendelsohn and directed by Joachim Ronning, Doomsday follows the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York, where a former team of specialists are brought together to foresee and resolve potential man-made disasters.

Lefevre will play the Deputy Director of Homeland Security, and the leader of the Doomsday team. She will star opposite Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean, Kingsman: The Secret Service) who will play a playwright/screenwriter.

A release date for the series has not yet been announced. — AFP-Relaxnews
