In an interview with the Sunday Times, Blunt spoke about how he had lived with Fisher while recording his debut album Back To Bedlam in 2004.

"She put a cardboard cutout of herself as Leia outside my room with her date of birth and date of death on her forehead.

"I’m trying to remember what the date was, because it was around now — and I remember thinking it was too soon.”

Blunt refers to Fisher as his "American mother” and she was also godmother to his son. "Fisher was my American mother, and a real inspiration,” Blunt told the Sunday Times.

He recalled recording his hit Goodbye My Lover using a piano in Fisher’s bathroom. "My first album was called Back to Bedlam because I lived in a madhouse with her.”

Fisher died on December 27, a few days after suffering a heart attack.
