LONDON, Feb 16 — Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in a TV adaptation of the Ian McEwan novel The Child In Time.
The project will take the form of a 90-minute film for BBC One and Masterpiece directed by Julian Farino, Variety reports.
The UK actor will both executive produce and star in the project.
The novel tells the tale of a married couple dealing with the loss of their child, and Cumberbatch will take on the lead role of the protagonist Stephen Lewis.
It is not the first time the actor has starred in an adaptation of McEwan’s work — in 2007 he played the part of Paul Marshall in the hit movie Atonement. — AFP-Relaxnews
